They have different strengths. Illmac’s battle game is nasty as fuck with the flow, punches, flips, hella multis, on beat or acapella.

Pass isn’t necessarily on the same level as a battle emcee, but his natural half-black ability to spit lyrically is ahead of Illmaculate’s. “Lush one party w/ cyphers n shit” video for example

Freestyling and battling are not the same thing, just because Illmac murked him in a battle at a cheap hotel over a beatbox doesnt mean he’s the iller/illest freestyler
